“The Adventures of Ratoncito Pérez”

Objective:

  • Create a Hispanic dental wellness and education initiative that garners awareness and media coverage while furthering Delta Dental’s mission of promoting proper dental hygiene in the communities it serves

Strategy:

  • Developed “The Adventures of Ratoncito Pérez” book series to educate public school children, ages 6-7, about dental health in four markets – South Florida, Atlanta, Houston and Dallas – through the cultural tradition and legend of Ratoncito Pérez

Results:

  • Efforts resulted in additional school partnerships, the expansion of the initiative in each activated market, and the opportunity to launch the program in New York City
  • Reached more than 31,000 students since 2013, with the number continuing to grow year by year
  • Received endorsements by school district leaders across all markets
